The condition of the Qafë Buall-Krastë road has deteriorated after paving work was suspended by the companies “BE-IS” sh.p.k, “ERGI” sh.p.k and “VËLLEZËRIT HYSA”, which requested increased funding.
Potholes have appeared on the new roadbed, which had been prepared for paving, hindering vehicle traffic. Drivers say that for at least three months they have seen neither construction machinery nor workers carrying out other services on this road.

The Albanian Road Authority approved the project to build the Qafë Buall-Krastë road at a total value of €11 million. Reconstruction began two years ago and, according to the project, was due to be completed in April 2025.
