CMC: 17 fires recorded in open areas over the past 24 hours

The Crisis Management Center announced that a total of 17 fires in open areas were recorded across the country over the past 24 hours. Of these, one fire has been brought under control, while the other 16 have been completely extinguished.

According to CMC data, the fire under control is in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod, in the area of the village of Belica, where the flames affected a pine forest and low vegetation.

The institution said fires were also extinguished in the Municipality of Gjorče Petrov near the village of Kučkovo, in Veles near the village of Crkvino, in Negotino near the village of Crveni Bregovi, and in Bogdanci near the village of Stojakovo, where mainly low and degraded vegetation was burning.

Fires were also put out in Strumica near the village of Dobrejci, in Bosilovo near the village of Bosilovo, as well as in the Municipality of Vasilevo, in the area between the villages of Čanaklija and Gječerlija, where a landfill and low vegetation were affected by the fire.

The CMC also said that fires were contained and extinguished at the “St. Joakim Osogovski” monastery in Kriva Palanka, near the village of Carević in Prilep, in the village of Nov Karaorman in the Municipality of Karbinci, as well as in the Babi settlement of Štip near the Kisha Mirjanina locality.

Among the extinguished fires were those in Berovo near the village of Smojmirovo, in Butel on Luboten Street, in Kumanovo on “11 Nëntori” Street, in the Municipality of Brvenica near the village of Miletino, and in the Municipality of Krivogaštani near the village of Vogjani, where a landfill and low vegetation were burning.

The Crisis Management Center stressed that the fire situation is being monitored continuously and called on citizens to exercise caution in open areas in order to prevent the outbreak of new fires.
