Clear the way for the arrest of one of the most corrupt politicians”/ Citizen appeals to SPAK: Do not delay the request to lift Balluku’s immunity!

The 134th protest against Edi Rama’s government continued with citizens calling for the prime minister’s resignation and urging the intervention of the justice institutions.

One of the participants stressed in his speech that the unity of the protesters has raised public awareness of the political situation in Albania.

He appealed to SPAK not to delay any further the request submitted to Parliament to lift Balluku’s immunity, so as to clear the way for her arrest.

“We have united and are demanding Rama’s resignation. This unity has made society more sensitive to reality. Before May 31, SPAK had submitted a request to the leadership of Parliament to lift Balluku’s immunity, but it was not carried out. At that time, society was not as aware. We asked ourselves how it was possible for the prime minister and Parliament not to lift the immunity of one of the most corrupt ministers. It was said that Rama was invincible and did whatever he wanted. But today he can no longer act as he pleases. Today Rama is frightened, but he is trying to mask his fear with cowardly behavior and is attempting to appear strong. I call on SPAK not to delay the request to Parliament concerning Balluku’s immunity, so that her arrest can become possible. She is one of the most corrupt politicians in the Republic of Albania,” he declared.
