The City of Skopje has announced that the project to build a modern Luna Park will be completed within the deadline set out in the program of Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski, namely by the end of 2027. After around a decade without this popular space for children, the park aims to bring entertainment and family activities back to the city.

According to the project, the new complex will feature attractions for different age groups. In addition to traditional amusement rides, visitors will have access to a roller coaster, a Ferris wheel, water attractions, interactive games and virtual reality areas.
The City of Skopje has also provided clarification regarding the procurement procedures and the mutual termination of the contract signed following the new tender. The institution says that this decision avoids the double purchase of the same equipment and ensures more responsible use of public funds.
Following the termination of the previous contract for the purchase of the equipment, which was signed during the term of office of municipal mayor Koce Trajanovski, the company sued the City of Skopje. The court ruled in favor of the company, obliging the city to pay for the equipment, while the new contract had already been signed following the completion of the new tender.
Since the new procedure also included the equipment provided for in the previous agreement, the parties decided to mutually terminate the new contract. According to the City of Skopje, this solution avoids unnecessary duplication of equipment and additional expenses for the city budget.
The institution clarified that the decision regarding the contract will not affect the planned deadline for completing the new Luna Park.
“Within a month, the installation of the seven pieces of equipment purchased under the previous contract will begin. At the same time, landscaping work in the area will continue so that this part of the park can create the conditions for operations to begin,” the City of Skopje said in a statement./Telegrafi/
