Çitaku: PDK will be in opposition

Following a meeting of the parliamentary parties with Acting President Albulena Haxhiu, PDK Deputy Chairwoman Vlora Çitaku said that the Democratic Party of Kosovo would continue to remain in opposition.

According to Çitaku, the PDK aims for Kosovo’s institutions to be formed as soon as possible so that citizens’ demands can be addressed in the Assembly.

“The PDK’s political position is clear: we will be in opposition. Nevertheless, we want Kosovo’s institutions to be constituted as soon as possible so that the demands of the citizens of Kosovo can be addressed,” she said.

Çitaku also said that major differences exist between the PDK and LVV, limiting the possibility of cooperation. However, she stressed that her party would contribute from the opposition to the process of constituting the institutions.

“We are years apart from LVV and see little room for cooperation. This does not mean that we cannot cooperate on the constitution of the institutions and in the interests of the citizens of Kosovo, but not on governing. We still do not know exactly who will be in opposition and who will be in power, but the PDK will be in opposition,” she added.
