Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj has decided to dismiss two deputy mayors, Vasilika Vjero and Ilir Mëngra, and appoint Etleva Bisha as a deputy mayor.
Etleva Bisha brings a distinguished political and professional background to the role. One of the founders of FRESH, she has been active in the Socialist Party for many years and helped reform social services while Erion Veliaj headed the ministry.

In recent years, Bisha has strengthened her profile as a local government expert, working with some of the most important international organizations operating in Albania.
Her appointment brings together political experience, a commitment to socialist values and high-level professional expertise in local government administration.
These changes in the leadership of Tirana Municipality come after Mayor Erion Veliaj was transferred from pretrial detention in Durrës to the facility in Fier, a move he has said he was unaware of.
