Central Labor Inspectorate reveals details about fatal crane accident in Prishtina

A worker has lost his life and a colleague has been injured after a crane collapsed at a workshop along “A” street in the capital. The Central Labor Inspectorate has released official information about the serious incident.

According to the institution, the tragedy occurred while a crane was being installed at the construction site of the company “Vëllezërit Asllani”.

Their statement says that works at that site were still in the foundation excavation phase, so the inspectorate had not previously conducted a control visit. Regarding the cause of the accident, the authorities stress that it is still too early to provide a final assessment. The circumstances and nature of the case require in-depth investigations and additional expertise to identify the exact reasons for the collapse, and to determine whether workplace safety rules were respected.

The Inspectorate reports that its teams went to the scene without delay and are continuing inspection procedures in cooperation with other responsible bodies.

In its response, the Central Labor Inspectorate expressed its deepest condolences to the victim’s family, relatives and colleagues, while wishing a speedy recovery to the worker who was injured during this fatal incident.
