Bosnia and Herzegovina will not take part in Eurovision in 2027 either, continuing its long absence from Europe’s biggest music competition.
The main reason remains the financial problems of public broadcaster BHRT, which continues to be under sanctions from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) due to unpaid debts.

The decision was confirmed by BHRT itself, which stressed that until the issue of its financial obligations to the EBU is resolved, Bosnia and Herzegovina will not be able to return to Eurovision.
Meanwhile, the authorities and the public broadcaster have undertaken several initiatives to improve the financial situation, including court proceedings and support from state institutions, but no final solution has yet been reached.
Bosnia and Herzegovina made its Eurovision debut in 1993, while its greatest success came in 2006, when Hari Mata Hari finished in third place with the song “Lejla.”
The country’s last participation was in 2016 with the song “Ljubav je,” performed by Dalal, Deen, Ana Rucner and Jala, who failed to qualify for the competition’s final.
Since then, the country has been absent every year due to the public broadcaster’s financial difficulties.
