Bomb threat issued to several institutions across the country; threatening email revealed

This morning, a bomb threat put several institutions in cities across the country on alert. According to a statement from the State Police, an email was sent to the electronic addresses of several institutions from an as-yet-unidentified address, containing threats and claiming that a bomb had been placed on their premises.

After receiving the information, State Police units immediately began carrying out checks and inspections at the institutions targeted in the threat.

According to the police, the inspections found no bomb or any other type of explosive device.

This morning, an email was sent to the electronic addresses of several institutions in cities across the country from an as-yet-unidentified address. The email contained threatening and terrorist content and claimed that a bomb had been placed at these institutions.

Immediately after receiving this information, State Police units began carrying out all necessary checks at the institutions targeted in the threat. The inspections conducted so far have found no bomb or any other type of explosive device.

Meanwhile, the Directorate for the Investigation of Cybercrimes, in cooperation with the Directorate of Counterterrorism and other law enforcement agencies, is continuing intensive efforts to identify the perpetrator and the electronic address from which these threats were sent.

The State Police assures citizens that there is no reason to panic and that its units are fully committed to ensuring public order and safety, as well as preventing and cracking down on illegal activities.
