Berisha in Elbasan: The opposition will add at least 40 municipalities and put an end to this regime

Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha said in Elbasan this Friday that the territorial reform is being used by the majority to strengthen its power, instead of addressing the problems created earlier.

According to him, the government is preparing to eliminate another 15 municipalities, including three in Elbasan County. Berisha described these municipalities as functional and serving citizens, while saying that the opposition has a different plan for territorial organization.

He said that the Democratic Party’s project provides not only for preserving the existing municipalities, but also for adding at least 40 new municipalities across the country, including in Elbasan County. According to Berisha, this would bring citizens closer to local government.

In conclusion, Berisha called on the citizens of Elbasan and all of Albania to act with determination and courage to deliver the final response to a regime that, according to him, should not remain in power for another day. He added that nothing would stop the opposition and the Democratic Party from overthrowing this dictatorship, which he accused of relying on crime, drugs and the theft of Albanians.
