BDI challenges VLEN: Why stay in the executive if you admit you have no power?

The Democratic Union for Integration has launched sharp accusations against the leadership of the VLEN coalition, reacting after their spokesperson, Bekim Qoku, claimed that VLEN representatives are “terribly weak” within the Government.

Through a press release, BDI interprets this statement as an open confession of political bankruptcy and questions why VLEN members continue to be part of the government cabinet while they themselves admit they cannot influence decisions.

“This is an open admission of failure. The fate of Albanians, their place in state structures, and the protection of national interests cannot be held hostage to your powerlessness,” the reaction emphasizes.

The political entity publicly asks VLEN leaders why, according to them, they remain silent on topics concerning the Albanian language, fair and sufficient participation of Albanians in institutions, and appointments to leadership positions.

Underscoring that staying in the Government should materialize power to fulfill citizens’ demands, BDI issues a clear warning: if VLEN is unable to do this, then it is imperative to withdraw from power.

At the end of the announcement, BDI directs a series of questions to VLEN emissaries Bilall Kasami and Izet Mexhiti, challenging them to clarify whether there is “any red line” that would push them to abandon their posts, or, as BDI implies, “the only red line they dare not touch is holding onto their seat.”

BDI closes the reaction with a demand for accountability: “How long will you hold the future of Albanians hostage due to your political impotence, and when will you leave the Government?”
