He linked what is happening in Albania to the situation that developed in Serbia during the mass student protests against the government of Aleksandar Vucic.
According to Bardhi, the same phenomenon is now emerging in Albania, led by Edi Rama.
The chairman of the Democratic Party’s parliamentary group said that many Instagram profiles belonging to citizens actively supporting the more than three-month-long protest against the government had been attacked and blocked.
Bardhi described this as a “censorship algorithm” through which, he said, the prime minister seeks to hide his own failure by silencing society, muzzling his opponents and removing critical voices from the public sphere.
He accused Edi Rama of using Vucic’s methods, but stressed that these actions cannot change Albanians’ conviction that Rama is the prime minister who has caused the country the most harm in nearly four decades and that he must leave office.
In conclusion, Bardhi expressed solidarity with every citizen who, as he put it, had been targeted because of their critical stance. According to him, no censorship algorithm can save a government from the truth.
