Balliu hands US delegation dossier on organized crime, SHISH and KAYO

Democratic Party MP Klevis Balliu met today with a delegation of male and female members of Congress from the United States. The discussions focused on security, organized crime, corruption and the functioning of Albanian institutions.

During the meeting, Balliu handed the American representatives a dossier consisting of memoranda, documents and other materials outlining issues he links to what he calls “Edi Rama’s narco-state.”

The submitted materials addressed alleged connections between organized crime and state structures, including SHISH, the State Police, AKSHI and cybersecurity institutions. The case of Ergys Agasi and Vlora Hyseni was also raised in this context. According to the memorandum, these developments are linked to national security and Albania’s relations with NATO partners.

Another chapter of the dossier dealt with international drug trafficking and money laundering, particularly through real estate development and the property sector. It also addressed allegations and materials connected to Sinaloan, as well as contacts between its representatives and high-ranking officials in the Albanian government. Balliu also raised his concerns about the KAYO case, discussing the integrity of prosecution proceedings in the defense sector and their potential implications for national security.

The Democratic MP declared that the issues raised go beyond the framework of domestic political debate because, according to him, they affect regional security, NATO and Albania’s strategic relations with the United States.

A notable moment during the meeting was the delivery of documentation to each participating member of Congress. Balliu said he gave them the full memorandum, together with the accompanying documents and materials.
