Azemi: Technical workers will not return to work until July and August wages are paid

The strike by technical workers in Pristina will continue until their outstanding wages are paid, said Jusuf Azemi, chairman of the Technical Workers’ Union.

Speaking on the program “Ora 7,” he said workers were being pressured to return to schools.

“Until we are paid in full for August and for the days worked in July, we will not return to work,” Azemi said.

According to him, the union has withdrawn from the agreement previously reached with the Municipal Directorate of Education, accusing the institution of failing to fulfill its commitments.

Azemi also demanded that workers be guaranteed a salary of 500 euros.

He stressed that dialogue with the institutions would not continue until the wages for July and August had been paid and the 500-euro salary had been implemented.
