Arrest of Vlora Hyseni/Bardhi: We warned about it earlier, organized crime has captured the institutions

The head of the Democratic Party’s Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, reacted after Parliament refused to hold a debate on the arrest of former SHISH director Vlora Hyseni.

According to Bardhi, the investigations have revealed that organized crime exercises control over state institutions.

He said that Parliament cannot avoid discussing the issue, emphasizing that institutions and criminal groups coexist.

Gazment Bardhi: The opposition’s allegations have been mocked by Edi Rama. Ilir Proda was Suel Çela’s choice. We had warned about the appointment of Vlora Hyseni. Parliament cannot walk away from this debate. Organized crime controls the institutions.

Bardhi said that the Prosecutor’s Office conducts investigations only when it is confronted with evidence. He added that, if Ergys Agasi had thrown his cellphone into the Lana River, Vlora Hyseni would have continued to head SHISH, where, according to him, she acted as Agasi’s “soldier.”

“We are dealing with a rotten system. The State Police, too, has been placed at the service of organized crime,” he said.

Gazment Bardhi stressed that concerns about the situation at SHISH and other institutions have also been raised by Albania’s international partners. He emphasized that the Democratic Party will continue to tell the truth, with the aim of protecting the interests of Albanian citizens.
