Arrest of SHISH director: Gjinovci raises suspicions that information may have reached Rama

The SPAK’s decision to place Vlora Hyseni, director of Albania’s State Intelligence Service, under house arrest and suspend her from duty has also prompted reactions in Kosovo.

One of those to comment on the case is Rron Gjinovci. He recalled Hyseni’s previous work in Kosovo’s security institutions, as well as her move to Albania, where she initially became Prime Minister Edi Rama’s national security adviser and was later appointed head of SHISH.

Gjinovci questions how Kosovo’s institutions handled the move of a former senior Kosovo intelligence official to Albania’s security structures. According to him, this development should have been followed by checks by Kosovo’s institutions. In a reaction posted on Facebook, he also raises suspicions of possible information leaks and accuses Kosovo’s institutions of inaction, “Bota sot” reports.

SPAK has placed Vlora Hyseni, director of the Albanian Intelligence Service, under house arrest and suspended her from duty.

Before continuing her career in Albania, Vlora Hyseni had worked for the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI). In Albania, she unexpectedly reached the highest levels of the security structures. For about two years, she served as Edi Rama’s adviser on national security, while in 2023 Rama proposed her for the position of head of Albania’s intelligence service.

Under normal circumstances, Kosovo’s institutions should have investigated the possibility that information had been passed on to Edi Rama, but there is no state here.
