Arms depot discovered in Manzë, 20-year-old arrested

The Durrës police forces have successfully concluded the coded operation “Base”, where a weapons storage site was discovered that is believed to have been supplying criminal groups.

Arrested was citizen E. P., 20 years old, resident of Manzë, who was caught in the act. During the search of his apartment, police officers seized a large quantity of weaponry: four pistols, an automatic model 56 (Kalashnikov), a hunting rifle, six magazines, hundreds of combat cartridges of various calibers, as well as an Italian license plate and a mobile phone.

According to preliminary investigations, the base served as a supply point for criminal groups with firearms. The operation was undertaken after information obtained through operational channels, as part of measures to crack down on illegal weapons possession and prevent serious crimes.

The seized weapons will be examined by experts from the Institute of Scientific Police to determine if they have been used in previous criminal incidents.

Investigations are ongoing to identify other individuals who may be part of this criminal network. The criminal case has been referred to the Durrës Prosecutor’s Office on charges of ” Production and illegal possession of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition” and “Production and illegal possession of hunting and sports weapons.”
