Armed 32-year-old arrested, firearm and €15,000 seized

Officers from Police Commissariat No. 1 in the capital have concluded the operation codenamed “Last Gun”, arresting a 32-year-old caught red-handed with an unlicensed firearm and a considerable amount of money.

Based on operational information that an individual was moving around armed, police services stopped a Citroen DS3 vehicle on Çollakët Street, in which 32-year-old R. V. was travelling.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found and seized as material evidence a pistol along with live ammunition.

In addition to the firearm, police seized the vehicle, two mobile phones and €15,800. The young man was arrested for the criminal offence of “Illegal possession and manufacture of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition”, while the procedural materials were forwarded to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
