NATO’s Air Command announced today that allied forces under its direction shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle that had breached Romanian airspace.
Earlier in the day, Romanian officials had reported that an F-16 fighter jet was scrambled to neutralize the drone, destroying it after its illegal incursion into the country’s airspace.

In an official statement, the Alliance stressed that it has launched an investigation to shed light on the circumstances of the incident and is coordinating with Romanian authorities to gather full data.
