Allegations of casino gambling during students’ excursion to Monte Carlo

During a school excursion to Monte Carlo, the principal of a secondary school and her deputy are suspected of having taken part in gambling at a casino while the students waited in its lobby. The allegations were raised by the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM) through Jovançe Manaskov, chairman of the party’s Education and Science Commission.

According to Manaskov, the individuals in question are principal Žaneta Servini and deputy principal Ljupço Zdravkovski of the “Gjorgji Naumov” Regional Center for Vocational Education and Training in Bitola.

He said he had video footage and photographs from the incident. According to his statement, the materials will be published with the faces of the underage students blurred in order to protect their identities.

SDSM called on Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska to immediately launch an investigation and determine whether there are grounds for holding the persons mentioned accountable or dismissing them.

“Responsibility in education is not a privilege, but an obligation,” Manaskov said.

So far, neither the principal, nor the deputy principal, nor the Ministry of Education and Science has made a public statement regarding the allegations. The claims remain to be verified and confirmed by the competent institutions./КarovskiМ/Kanal77/
