Alban Krasniqi responds to Daut Haradinaj: I do not carry bombs to threaten MPs

A sarcastic Facebook post by Vetëvendosje Movement official Alban Krasniqi has come in response to Daut Haradinaj’s statements about the presence of bombs at the protest outside the Assembly. Krasniqi, the husband of Albulena Haxhiu, listed a series of denials beginning with the word “nor,” directing at someone else the accusations he mentioned.

Among the wording of the post, his assertion that he does not carry bombs to threaten MPs stands out. The response is linked to claims made by Haradinaj eight days after he himself had taken part in the protest.

On October 14, during the “Rubikon” program on Klan Kosova, Haradinaj stated that many of the protesters at the October 6 night protest had weapons and bombs. He insisted that he had seen this personally and claimed that, without approval of the amendments to the Law on Specialist Chambers, MPs would not have been able to leave the Assembly without bloodshed.

In that interview, Haradinaj described Prime Minister Albin Kurti as a coward, saying that he had cast his vote out of fear.

The member of the AAK leadership had been among the protesters outside the Assembly, where he had called for the law to be approved. Thus, his claim about bombs referred to a crowd in which he himself was present, while he used the claim as a political argument against his opponents.

However, Haradinaj has not explained why, if he had seen the bombs himself, he chose to speak about them in a television studio only after more than a week had passed.

His claims have also prompted reactions from Saim Tahiraj and Salih Zyba. Analyst Tahiraj raised the question of why the security structures did not intervene if there really were armed people around the Assembly. Zyba, meanwhile, called for the Prosecutor’s Office to take action, implying that Haradinaj had had a plan for bloodshed that night.

In his latest post, Krasniqi denies having blocks of cash in a boiler, gangs operating in the field or wealth acquired through crime. He also writes that he does not own shares in the construction mafia and does not receive income from usury or extortion.

His list continues with claims that he has not ceded territory, has not held meetings with Milan Radojčić and has not supported the court he describes as anti-UÇK. The same post also includes references to the usurpation of homes in Dragodan, the “purchase” of neighborhoods in Marigona and the theft of “53 million” on a road.

As for the media, Krasniqi denies having control over them to prevent the publication of news or to pay for news reports.

In closing, he states in defiant tones that the truth is on his side and that he lives with honor and a clear conscience, following a straight and clear path. Krasniqi adds that they cannot be frightened or pushed back and ends the message by asserting that they overcame fear when they killed death.

The clash with Haradinaj is not limited to this post. In an earlier response, Krasniqi had linked the statement about the bombs to the Law on the Bureau for the Verification and Confiscation of Unjustified Assets, mentioning Daut Haradinaj and Sami Lushtaku, the mayor of Skenderaj and former UÇK commander in Drenica.

In that response, Krasniqi had written that the country would feel like a state once they were arrested. In the court proceedings against Sami Lushtaku, the courts declared him not guilty.

At the time the news was published, Haradinaj had not responded to Krasniqi’s post.
