Meanwhile, Iranian media said the targets were Hormozgan province as well as the city of Shirik.

According to reports from Iran, a powerful explosion was heard in the city of Sirik, in the southern part of the country, while it was clarified that its cause is still unknown.

These reports of the explosion were published immediately after US President Donald Trump signaled that there could be an American response to the Iranian attack against a commercial vessel.

When asked whether Tehran would face consequences, Trump replied: “You’ll find out yourselves.”
