After six years in the US, Prince Harry returns to Britain: It’s fantastic to be back here

Prince Harry has returned to the United Kingdom after six years in California, expressing his delight at being back in his home country.

During an interview with Canadian network CTV, the Duke of Sussex described the return as “wonderful” and said he feels at ease now that his children are happy at school.

“It has been very good. It’s fantastic to be back on British soil. The children are happy at school and that gives me the chance to really focus on the Invictus Games in Birmingham in July next year,” Harry said.

Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their duties as senior members of the royal family in 2020, before settling in the United States. Last month, the couple returned to Britain and, according to reports, the family now lives in a private residence in the Cotswolds, outside London.

Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, were moved to a different school just days after the start of the school year. The decision was made due to security concerns during travel, after the Sussexes’ private security team raised alarm over the distance and heavy traffic on the road to the school.

While Meghan Markle has significantly reduced her public appearances, Prince Harry has continued to take part in various activities, especially those linked to the Invictus Games.

Last week, he was at a school in Birmingham, where he introduced a learning program based on the Games. During the visit, Harry played with pupils and attended a science class on designing prosthetic limbs. The Invictus Games will be held in Birmingham from 10 to 17 July next year.

The CTV interview took place after a parachute jump in Toronto. Harry carried out the activity to keep a promise to a 102-year-old Second World War veteran, as well as to raise public awareness of military charities.

When asked why the family decided to return to Britain, the Duke of Sussex said there were “many reasons”, but offered no further explanation.
