Accident in Gramsh, married couple rushed to the Trauma Hospital

During the night in the village of Çekrez, a road accident was recorded in the municipality of Gramsh, where a married couple was injured after the motorcycle they were traveling on crashed due to the sudden appearance of a horse on the road.

According to preliminary information, the spouses were traveling by motorcycle on the road segment along the rural road of Çekrez when a horse suddenly cut them off.

Because of the short distance and the impossibility of avoiding the collision, the motorcycle rider lost control of the vehicle, causing both of them to fall onto the asphalt.

As a result, the man and woman suffered various bodily injuries. Immediately after the report was received, Gramsh Police services and the medical emergency team arrived at the scene, provided first aid, and transported the injured to the Gramsh Hospital.

Doctors carried out the initial examinations and kept them under observation for about an hour. Given their health condition and the need for more specialized treatment, it was decided that the couple would be transported by ambulance to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, where they are receiving the necessary medical care.

Meanwhile, the Police have launched procedural actions to fully clarify the circumstances of the accident. It is preliminarily suspected that the cause of the incident was the animal’s sudden entry onto the roadway, which made it impossible for the motorcycle rider to avoid the collision.

This accident once again draws attention to the problem of animals left loose on roadways, especially during nighttime hours, when visibility is limited and the risk of accidents increases significantly. Therefore, drivers must exercise increased caution in rural areas, while animal owners should comply with their legal obligations to keep them under control in order to avoid such incidents.
