Abdixhiku: Strategic alliance with the US is fundamental to Kosovo’s security and Euro-Atlantic integration

The chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, held a meeting today with a delegation of 14 representatives from the United States Senate and House of Representatives, who are part of the Atlantic Council’s “Balkans Forward Congressional Fellowship” program.

The discussion focused on the current situation in Kosovo, the country’s Euro-Atlantic perspective and the latest developments related to security in the Western Balkans.

During the meeting, Abdixhiku highlighted the importance of the strategic partnership between Kosovo and the US, describing it as an important foundation for Kosovo’s security, stability and development.

He also underscored the irreplaceable contribution of the United States to the history and consolidation of the state of Kosovo, while calling for the relationship to be further deepened.

Another issue discussed was Kosovo’s and the region’s Euro-Atlantic path. In this context, the importance of a sustained American presence and engagement in preserving peace, strengthening stability and advancing the European perspective of the Western Balkans was emphasized.
