AAK accuses the Kurti government of constitutional violations and misuse of the budget

At a press conference, the Alliance expressed concern over what it described as constitutional violations and financial damage to the state under the Kurti government.

AAK MP Burim Ramadani said the party would continue raising issues it considers alarming. According to him, the unconstitutional situation into which LVV has plunged Kosovo is accompanied by a series of legal and financial violations. He said this involved the embezzlement of Kosovo’s budget and approximately half a million euros per month being paid to Vetëvendosje Movement activists employed in government offices.

Ramadani stressed that these individuals had been appointed before the June elections. He added that a person certified as an MP cannot simultaneously serve as a minister and, consequently, employees hired by these ministers are also not entitled to enter government offices. According to him, the approximate value of the activists’ salaries amounts to 486,000 euros per month. He also mentioned cases in which drivers had been appointed as advisers in order to increase their salaries, saying that the cost of this was borne by citizens.

He also addressed the failure to constitute the institutions, saying that the Vetëvendosje Movement had still not provided any response to AAK’s six-point offer.

The MP announced that the Alliance had presented an offer to contribute to the formation of the institutions. According to him, nothing had been heard so far regarding AAK’s six strategic points, which include issues of importance for the country’s future, such as Kosovo’s inclusion in gas projects and the construction of energy-generation capacities. Ramadani added that AAK would review any agreement that could be reached by the other parties.
