A 41-year-old man from Skopje, identified as D.V., was taken into custody last night on the Ilinden-Marino local road by police officers from the Mobile Road Traffic Safety Unit within the Road Traffic Affairs Department.

During the inspection, police determined that he was driving an Opel passenger vehicle with Skopje license plates without a driver’s license and while under the influence of alcohol. Tests showed that the 41-year-old had a blood alcohol level of 2.13 per mille.
According to the Interior Ministry, the public prosecutor was notified of the incident, while the vehicle was impounded. Once the case has been fully documented, the appropriate charges will be filed against D.V. under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code.
The ministry announced that increased traffic checks will continue in the coming period. It also called on all road users to comply with traffic rules and regulations, thereby contributing together to safer roads.
