37-year-old attacks parents with blunt objects in Durrës, taken into police custody; father rushed to Trauma Hospital in serious condition

Two parents were injured after being attacked with blunt objects by their 37-year-old son in the village of Rrushkull, in Manëz, Durrës. The incident took place in front of the family home.

According to preliminary police information, the son, identified by the initials E. K., has mental health problems. He attacked his father, S. K., 72, and his mother, F. K., 69.

Both parents were taken for medical care after being injured in the attack. The father suffered head injuries and, because of his serious condition, was transferred to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana for more specialized treatment. The mother is being treated at Durrës Regional Hospital, where her condition is stable.

Following the incident, police took the 37-year-old to the police station for further procedures.

The investigative team, led by the prosecutor’s office, is continuing its work to establish the circumstances and motives behind the attack.
