27-year-old dies after being electrocuted by high-voltage power line while repairing water tank in Kamëz

A 27-year-old man died this evening in Kamëz after suffering an electric shock while working on the roof of a residence.

According to police reports, around 8:00 p.m., the citizen with the initials R. T. was rushed to the Trauma Hospital to receive medical assistance.

The incident occurred on “Adriatik” Street, in neighborhood no. 5, where the young man was at his uncle’s house and was working on repairing the water tank placed above the building’s roofs.

It is suspected that during the intervention he accidentally came into contact with the wires of a high-voltage power line that passed over the residence.

Despite medical assistance, the 27-year-old did not manage to survive the severe injuries caused by the electric shock and died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Meanwhile, the investigative team, under the direction of the Prosecution Office, is working to fully clarify and document the circumstances and causes of the incident.
