16-year-old who killed his sister after a dispute over a post sentenced to 20 years in prison

A Wisconsin court has sentenced a 16-year-old to 20 years in prison for killing his 30-year-old sister after a family confrontation sparked by a social media post.

Hezile Frison was 15 when, in June 2025, he shot and killed his sister, Ashley Hudson. Court documents state that the bullet struck Hudson in the chest from extremely close range.

Prosecutors initially treated the case as an adult charge of first-degree intentional homicide. However, in July, Frison pleaded guilty to an amended charge of first-degree reckless homicide.

The sentence was handed down on September 25 by Milwaukee County Judge David Borowski. In addition to 20 years behind bars, Frison will be under supervision for 10 years after his release and must pay $1,800 in restitution.

Before announcing the sentence, the judge spoke about the family conflict that preceded the shooting. The confrontation, which involved several relatives, was recorded on video and used as evidence during the trial.

According to case materials, someone struck Ashley Hudson with a baseball bat during the fight. She then went to her vehicle, where she retrieved a knife. At that moment, Frison raised his gun and shot her in the chest.

Borowski described the situation as “total madness” and strongly condemned the violence among family members, People reported.

“You approached your sister and shot her in the chest while she was retreating,” the judge said.

Frison said he wanted to “bring her back,” but Borowski replied: “But you cannot bring her back.”

The judge also noted that Frison was a minor, but emphasized that he had killed his own sister and that he had shown no remorse immediately after the incident.

During questioning by authorities, the teenager initially denied being at the scene of the shooting. After investigators showed him footage identifying him, Frison said that his sister had “approached him.”

When he learned that Ashley had died, he asked, according to court documents: “What does this have to do with me?”

When asked whether he regretted his actions, Frison reportedly said he was prepared “to serve his sentence” for what he had done.

Two other family members were also found guilty of offenses related to the incident. Aaliyah J. Frison, the defendant’s other sister, was sentenced to two years in prison for aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon.

His mother, Tara T. Hudson, was sentenced to seven months in a correctional institution and one year of supervision after pleading guilty to resisting or obstructing an officer.

The incident caused shock within the family, while the sentence imposed on Frison represents one of the harshest measures that could be applied to a minor in this case.
