For the second consecutive day, bad weather with powerful storms has hit Kosovo, leaving severe consequences in several of its regions.

A tragic event has been recorded in the village of Pozheran in Vitia, where a citizen lost his life due to circumstances created by the bad weather, while two other residents suffered minor injuries.

The spokesperson of the Regional Police Directorate in Gjilan, Valon Osmani, stated to “Bota sot” that the deceased, a man born in 1965, is believed to have sustained fatal injuries after accidentally falling on the balcony of his residence.

“Around 16:30 on July 21, 2026, the severe weather conditions led to an incident in Pozheran of Vitia, where a male citizen, born in 1965, is thought to have slipped on the floor of his house balcony and hit his head,” Osmani announced.

He added that the injured person was rushed to the General Hospital of Gjilan, but the duty doctor found that the patient had arrived lifeless.

According to him, police teams immediately arrived at the scene and have launched investigative procedures to clarify the exact circumstances.

“Our police forces, in coordination with the State Prosecutor, are carrying out all investigative actions to fully shed light on the circumstances of this event,” Osmani emphasized.

He announced that by decision of the prosecutor, the body was sent for autopsy to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in the capital.

The storm also caused the wounding of two other people in the same locality.

“At the same time, two men from Pozheran suffered minor injuries when the entrance doors of their yards were knocked down by the force of the weather,” Osmani explained to “Bota sot”.

Both injured received medical attention at the Emergency Center of the hospital in Gjilan and were then allowed to return home.

Finally, spokesperson Osmani called on the population to exercise maximum caution during these dangerous conditions, to avoid unnecessary outings in the affected areas, and to obey the instructions of the authorities.

Një ngjarje tragjike është shënuar në fshatin Pozheran të Vitisë, ku një qytetar ka ndërruar jetë për shkak të rrethanave të krijuara nga moti i lig, ndërkohë që dy banorë të tjerë kanë marrë plagë të lehta.

Zëdhënësi i Drejtorisë Rajonale të Policisë në Gjilan, Valon Osmani, deklaroi për “Bota sot” se i ndjeri, një burrë i lindur më 1965, dyshohet se përsoi lëndime vdekjeprurëse pas një rrëzimi aksidental në ballkonin e banesës së tij.

“Rreth orës 16:30 të datës 21 korrik 2026, kushtet e rënduara atmosferike sollën një incident në Pozheran të Vitisë, ku një shtetas mashkull, i vitit të lindjes 1965, mendohet se ka rrëshqitur në dyshemenë e ballkonit të shtëpisë, duke u goditur në kokë,” bëri të ditur Osmani.

Ai shtoi se i lënduari u transportua me urgjencë në Spitalin e Përgjithshëm të Gjilanit, por mjeku kujdestar konstatoi se pacienti kishte mbërritur pa jetë.

Sipas tij, ekipet e policisë mbërritën menjëherë në vendngjarje dhe kanë nisur procedurat hetimore për të sqaruar rrethanat e sakta.

“Forcat tona policore, në bashkërendim me Prokurorin e Shtetit, po kryejnë të gjitha veprimet hetimore për të ndriçuar plotësisht rrethanat e kësaj ngjarjeje,” theksoi Osmani.

Ai njoftoi se me vendim të prokurorit, trupi u dërgua për obduksion në Institutin e Mjekësisë Ligjore në kryeqytet.

Stuhia shkaktoi gjithashtu plagosjen e dy personave të tjerë në të njëjtin lokalitet.

“Në të njëjtën kohë, dy burra nga Pozherani pësuan lëndime të lehta kur dyert hyrëse të oborreve të tyre u rrëzuan nga forca e motit,” sqaroi Osmani për “Bota sot”.

Të dy të plagosurit morën ndihmë mjekësore në Qendrën Emergjente të spitalit në Gjilan dhe më pas u lejuan të kthehen në shtëpi.

Në fund, zëdhënësi Osmani i bëri thirrje popullatës të tregojë kujdes maksimal gjatë këtyre kushteve të rrezikshme, të evitojnë daljet e panevojshme në zonat e prekura dhe t’u binden udhëzimeve të autoriteteve.

Severe weather affecting Kosovo for the second consecutive day has had serious consequences in several parts of the country.

In Pozheran, in the Municipality of Viti, one person died in an incident suspected to be linked to the difficult weather conditions. Two other people were also slightly injured in the same village.

Valon Osmani, spokesperson for the Kosovo Police in the Gjilan region, told “Bota sot” that the victim was a man born in 1965 who is suspected of having accidentally fallen on the balcony of his home.

According to Osmani, the incident occurred on 21.07.2026 at around 16:30, when weather conditions had deteriorated. The Kosovar man is suspected of having slipped on the floor of his home’s balcony, sustaining head injuries.

He was transported by ambulance to the Emergency Center at Gjilan General Hospital, but the attending physician confirmed that he had arrived with no signs of life.

Relevant police units responded to the scene and, in coordination with the State Prosecutor, are carrying out all necessary investigative actions to fully establish and clarify the circumstances of the case.

By order of the State Prosecutor, the body was sent for an autopsy at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Pristina.

The storm also affected two other Kosovar men from Pozheran. They sustained minor bodily injuries after the entrance gates to their yard collapsed due to the weather conditions.

After receiving medical treatment at the Emergency Center at Gjilan General Hospital, both were discharged and allowed to return home.

In his statement to “Bota sot,” Osmani also relayed an appeal from the Gjilan Regional Police Directorate, which urged citizens to exercise increased caution during such weather conditions, avoid unnecessary travel in high-risk areas, and follow the instructions of the responsible institutions.

Moti i rënduar që ka përfshirë Kosovën për të dytën ditë me radhë ka sjellë pasoja serioze në disa pjesë të vendit.

Në Pozheran të Komunës së Vitisë, një person ka humbur jetën në një incident që dyshohet se lidhet me kushtet e vështira atmosferike. Në të njëjtin fshat janë lënduar lehtë edhe dy persona të tjerë.

Valon Osmani, zëdhënës i Policisë së Kosovës për rajonin e Gjilanit, ka bërë të ditur për “Bota sot” se viktima ishte një burrë i lindur në vitin 1965, i cili dyshohet se u rrëzua aksidentalisht në ballkonin e banesës së tij.

Sipas Osmanit, ngjarja ka ndodhur më 21.07.2026, rreth orës 16:30, në kohën kur kushtet atmosferike ishin përkeqësuar. Burri kosovar dyshohet se ka rrëshqitur në dyshemenë e ballkonit të shtëpisë, duke marrë lëndime në kokë.

Stuhia ka shkaktuar pasoja edhe për dy burra të tjerë kosovarë nga Pozherani. Ata kanë marrë lëndime të lehta trupore pasi dyert hyrëse të oborrit të tyre janë rrëzuar si pasojë e kushteve atmosferike.

Pas trajtimit mjekësor në Qendrën Emergjente të Spitalit të Përgjithshëm në Gjilan, të dy janë liruar për t’u kthyer në shtëpi.
