A serious incident occurred a few days ago in Roskovec, where Bledar Bakaj went to the home of his former cohabiting partner and assaulted her father.

However, the 34-year-old woman has recounted the suffering she endured during the period she lived with Bakaj, who, she says, is the uncle of Socialist Party MP Zegjine Çaushi.

In an interview with Evis Ahmeti’s “Me Zemër të Hapur” program, she says that Bledar Bakaj subjected her to physical and psychological violence and even raped her.

According to her, she met Bledar Bakaj through her aunt, because he had promised her a job. The young woman needed money to buy medicine for her father.

“A man who looked like a doctor appeared, wearing an apron. He came out from behind me, grabbed me by the throat, put me in the car and called my father. He told my father that he had taken an ambulance, but it was not an ambulance. He took me to Levan, led me into the brambles and raped me. He dragged me away and took me to his sister. He took me to a cemetery and told me, ‘This is where you belong,’” the young woman recounts.

According to her, Bledar Bakaj is also MP Zegjine Çaushi’s uncle. She stresses that she met the MP, but says that she is not to blame.

“He is Zegjine’s direct uncle. I met her two days later. ‘He will get us into trouble,’ she said. ‘I am not responsible for what my uncles do,’” the 34-year-old woman said.

She went on to say that he repeatedly threatened her, telling her, “If you tell anyone, your grave is already dug.”

According to police, the incident occurred at around 8:38 p.m. The shooting is suspected to have followed a dispute between the parties.

At the scene, police found and seized a pistol cartridge casing. The injured man was taken to the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo (QKUK) in Pristina for medical treatment, while the suspect remains at large.

Media sources have identified the suspect as Fidan Gjyrevci.

New information about the case also sheds light on the motive behind the confrontation. According to sources, the conflict is suspected to be related to property issues.

The same sources said that several days before the shooting, the nephew had allegedly also assaulted another of his uncles.

Gjyrevci is suspected of forcibly entering his uncle’s establishment and threatening him while holding an axe.

Several days later, the suspect’s uncle had arrived from Belgium to spend his holiday in Kosovo. At the moment he was shot by his nephew, he was in the yard of the house.

Sources also claim that the suspect, who remains at large, had caused trouble on several occasions with residents of the village.

The incident happened last night, and after police intervened, the minor was placed in handcuffs.

According to the prosecution’s statement, the initial investigation data show that people with family ties were involved in this case, specifically an uncle and nephew, while the cause is suspected to have been an earlier dispute.

Prishtina, 02 July 2026 – The Basic Prosecution in Prishtina – Department for Serious Crimes informs the public that today, at around 13:40, in the “Dëshmorët Boulevard” square in the Municipality of Podujeva, an armed clash occurred between three (3) persons. As a result of the gunfire, three (3) persons involved in the incident, as well as a случай passerby, suffered bodily injuries.

According to the initial investigation data, it is suspected that persons with family ties (nephew and uncle) were involved in this incident, while the suspected motive in this matter is linked to a prior dispute.

Immediately after the information was received from the Kosovo Police, the duty prosecutor from the Department for Serious Crimes went to the scene and, in cooperation with the relevant units of the Kosovo Police, all necessary investigative measures and actions were undertaken to fully clarify the circumstances of this case.

In relation to these actions, the suspects are being investigated for committing the criminal offense of “Aggravated murder in attempted form,” under Article 173 in conjunction with Article 28 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.

Those wounded by gunfire were sent to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK) to receive the necessary medical treatment.

The Basic Prosecution in Prishtina, in full coordination with the Kosovo Police, is continuing to undertake all necessary investigative actions to fully clarify the circumstances of this incident.
