Russia claims that its forces have struck two commercial ships in the Ukrainian ports of Odesa and Mykolaiv, saying they were being used to supply the Ukrainian army.

According to the Russian state news agency RIA, which cites Russia’s Ministry of Defense, one of the ships was hit in the port of Odesa, while the other was struck in the port of Mykolaiv.

The Russian Ministry claims that both ships were being used to transport supplies for Ukrainian forces.

So far, there has been no independent confirmation of Moscow’s claims regarding the strikes on the two ships.

Attacks on Ukrainian ports and commercial ships in the Black Sea have increased in recent weeks. Russia has previously said that it has struck ships and port infrastructure that, according to Moscow, support the Ukrainian army.
