Five people have been declared wanted by police following a conflict in Tepelenë at around 01:10 on July 31, 2026, in which three people were injured during a fight involving blunt objects.

Following investigative actions carried out by the investigative team under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, the authorities identified R. Ç., 23, Sh. Ç., 22, A. Ç., 30, A. Ç., 58, and H. Ç., 43, as suspects.

Preliminary investigations have raised suspicions that one of the wanted individuals fired a gun into the air during the conflict.

The injured men are two brothers and their cousin. They sustained injuries from blunt objects and were taken to Gjirokastër Regional Hospital for treatment. According to available information, their lives are not in danger.

Meanwhile, police officers are continuing their search for the five wanted individuals in order to locate and arrest them. The case materials have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action.

A clash involving several people in the city of Tepelenë left three people injured in the early hours of this morning. The incident is believed to have occurred at around 00:30 and, according to police, the dispute began over a minor issue.

Blunt objects were used during the altercation, injuring A. B., 39, and E. B., 41, who are brothers, as well as their cousin, M. B., 46. All three are residents of Tepelenë.

The injured are receiving hospital treatment and are out of danger. Meanwhile, police have declared the perpetrators wanted.

The investigative team is continuing its work to identify the other people involved, fully document the circumstances of the conflict and bring the perpetrators to justice. Police said they would issue a detailed statement on the case once procedural actions have been completed.

An anti-drug operation conducted by Tepelenë Police led to the arrest in the act of a 57-year-old man suspected of cultivating narcotic plants in a remote and difficult-to-access area in the canyons of the village of Progonat.

The operation, codenamed “Rrjedha,” was completed following an investigation using proactive methods, conducted by officers from Tepelenë Police Station in cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office, with the aim of documenting the suspect’s criminal activity. As a result of the police intervention, I. M., 57, a resident of Tepelenë, was arrested at the scene.

According to police, he had cultivated 175 suspected Cannabis Sativa plants, planted in pots and placed among the Progonat canyons in an attempt to conceal them from inspections.

A 57-year-old man who had cultivated narcotic plants in pots among the canyons in the village of Progonat was arrested at the scene.

A total of 175 suspected Cannabis Sativa plants were destroyed.

Following an investigation using proactive methods, conducted by officers from Tepelenë Police Station in coordination with the Prosecutor’s Office to obtain legal evidence documenting the criminal activity of a person suspected of involvement in the cultivation of narcotic plants, the operation codenamed “Rrjedha” was completed.

As a result of professional police surveillance and intervention, the suspect, I. M., 57, a resident of Tepelenë, was arrested in the act deep inside the canyons in the village of Progonat, where he had cultivated 175 suspected Cannabis Sativa plants in pots.

Anti-cannabis inspections are continuing throughout the region.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Gjirokastër Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction for further action.
