The application period has begun for students aiming to secure a place in the dormitories and the cafeteria meal service at the Student Center in Prishtina for the new 2026/2027 academic year.

The application process is conducted entirely online, and the deadline for submitting requests is September 18, 2026, at 4:00 PM.

All regular bachelor’s cycle students whose permanent residence is 25 kilometers or more away from the capital are eligible to apply.

Rules and criteria for admission

The Student Center has developed a set of specific criteria to determine the winners. A special category of students is exempt from the general points-based ranking and is admitted automatically.

Specifically, this applies to students of the Faculty of Medicine, the Technical Faculty, and the Faculty of Mathematical and Natural Sciences who have achieved a grade average of 9.00 and live 25 kilometers or more from Prishtina. Likewise, regardless of the points accumulated, students of all other faculties with a grade average of 9.5 and the same residence distance are also admitted.

For other candidates, the competition provides a detailed scoring system. The grade average is valued on a spectrum from 5 to 15 points, while the distance of residence from Prishtina brings from 1 to 10 points. Students with residence outside the borders of the Republic of Kosovo receive 15 points for the distance criterion.

Bonus points for special groups

An additional points mechanism is provided for students belonging to certain social groups. Children of martyrs receive 10 additional points, while 5 points are awarded to children of war invalids. Additionally, students with disabilities receive 6 points, while orphans receive 5 points.

Students whose parent is a war veteran receive 3 points. Four additional points are given to children of war martyrs, children of political prisoners, and those coming from families receiving social assistance. In cases where two or more siblings apply at the same time, each of them receives 3 additional points.

To benefit from these points, students are required to upload the necessary documentation to the digital application platform. However, the institution clarifies that some data is processed automatically by the system, not requiring manual upload. This category includes points derived from grade average, geographic distance, parent’s status as a war invalid, and social assistance.

For members of non-majority communities, ranking will be based on lists available to the University of Prishtina.

Publication and appeal deadlines

The names of the competition winners are expected to be announced on September 25, 2026. The lists will be posted in the dormitory premises as well as on the official communication channels of the Student Center. For all those who disagree with the decision, the deadline to submit an online appeal is open during September 28 and 29. The final results, after reviewing appeals, will be made public on October 1, 2026.

The institution has clearly warned that individuals who have previously violated the internal regulations of the Student Center will be excluded from the right to accommodation in the dormitories. The final selection will be made by giving priority to candidates with the highest number of accumulated points.
