This project is not presented merely as an urban intervention through street art. Immersed in the social life and historical memory of Spezzano Albanese, the artists will work to visually express a relationship that has remained alive through the centuries, built on traditions, language, and memories preserved with dedication.

In this case, urban art serves as a universal tool for telling a shared story. The presence of young Albanian artists in dialogue with the descendants of the Arbëresh diaspora will turn the walls of the historic center into silent markers of an identity that has not faded, either through distance or time.

The artistic residency also comes as an opportunity for deep cultural exchange, where the energy and contemporary perspective of the younger generation will intertwine with the cultural resilience of the Arbëresh community. From this union, an artistic legacy is expected to emerge that, in addition to adding aesthetic value to the village, also seals a new phase in the long history that inseparably links Albania with its historic communities in Italy.

The initiative is organized by the Regno d’Arbëria Association, within the framework of the territorial marketing project Expo Arbëria, is funded by the European Union, and is implemented by the Goethe-Institut.

Ky projekt nuk paraqitet thjesht si një ndërhyrje urbane përmes artit të rrugës. Të përfshirë në jetën shoqërore dhe në kujtesën historike të Spezzano Albanese, artistët do të angazhohen të japin në mënyrë vizuale një marrëdhënie që ka mbetur e gjallë ndër shekuj, e ndërtuar mbi tradita, gjuhë dhe kujtime të ruajtura me përkushtim.

Në këtë rast, arti urban shërben si një mjet universal për të rrëfyer një histori të përbashkët. Prania e artistëve të rinj shqiptarë në dialog me pasardhësit e diasporës arbëreshe do t’i kthejë muret e qendrës historike në shenja të heshtura të një identiteti që nuk është zbehur as nga largësia dhe as nga koha.

Rezidenca artistike vjen edhe si një mundësi për shkëmbim të thellë kulturor, ku energjia dhe këndvështrimi bashkëkohor i brezit të ri do të ndërthuren me qëndrueshmërinë kulturore të arbëreshëve. Prej këtij bashkimi pritet të lindë një trashëgimi artistike që, përveçse i shton vlerë estetike fshatit, vulos edhe një fazë të re në historinë e gjatë që lidh në mënyrë të pandashme Shqipërinë me komunitetet e saj historike në Itali.

Nisma organizohet nga Shoqata Regno d’Arbëria, në kuadër të projektit të marketingut territorial Expo Arbëria, financohet nga Bashkimi Evropian dhe zbatohet nga Goethe-Institut.
