Ardian Gjini, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), announced that the party’s leadership has reviewed the current political developments and the institutional situation in the country.

In a statement posted on Facebook, he said the discussions focused on the political crisis and what he described as an “unprecedented institutional deadlock” in Kosovo.

“From the first days after voting ended, our position has been entirely constructive and supportive of establishing properly functioning institutions,” Gjini wrote.

According to him, the AAK has made a political proposal that could have helped resolve the institutional impasse. However, he claimed that the offer was not considered by the party that came first in the elections.

Gjini raised concerns over delays in constituting the Assembly, warning that Kosovo could face a further deepening of the institutional deadlock.

He also criticized the way the winning party is treating institutions and laws. He claimed that some of these actions are undermining institutional independence and the constitutional order.

According to Gjini, the current situation is also having consequences for the economy, healthcare and education, as well as Kosovo’s image on the international stage.

Concluding his statement, Gjini said the AAK would continue its political efforts to overcome the crisis and restore the normal functioning of institutions.

“The Alliance will remain committed to protecting our state-building project and will use every political opportunity to restore normality and development to the country,” he wrote.

Mefail Bajqinovci, who recently won a parliamentary seat from the Vetëvendosje Movement, has asked the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Democratic League of Kosovo to clarify their position regarding the return of judges from the Serb community who resigned.

According to him, Kosovo’s citizens have the right to know transparently whether these two political forces support or oppose their return to the country’s judicial system. He stressed that in such cases, silence is not an acceptable stance.

In a full social media post, Bajqinovci emphasized the necessity of a clear response from PDK and LDK on this issue, which he linked to orders from Belgrade for the judges’ resignations.

“Citizens deserve an unequivocal answer: are you in favor of their return to the institutions of our Republic, or are you against?” he wrote, adding that on topics that affect sovereignty and the functioning of state institutions, there is no room for evasiveness.

He closed his message by insisting that the time has come for both parties to clearly articulate their position.

In an interview for “Euronews Albania”, Svecla said he expects a greater engagement from Albania in the face of these stances.

“Of course, since Albania is the motherland of Albanians and since the very Constitution of Albania obligates the protection of Albanians and their interests, I expect more. That means I expect a factual, active response to these threats. Because these are not just statements, they are also threats, which are based on the past, as I said, our very painful one, and on Serbia’s behavior,” he said.

According to the acting minister, Tirana should have a more concrete and active stance towards this situation.

“She has been a deputy, where she was part of the Serbia–Albania friendship group, in which, unfortunately, Serbian chauvinists have participated. There needs to be an unmasking of this two-faced behavior of Belgrade, because there are no problems with Kosovo, but problems with Albanians,” Svecla declared.

Asked whether she would remain in the chamber and support such a deal, including the election of the president, Ymeri said that at this stage she cannot give a final position.

“I can’t say anything now. It depends on how events unfold later. For example, who is being proposed for president, and so on,” Ymeri said.

Later, the MP elaborated further on this statement through a Facebook post.

“As you may have heard on Debat Plus, tonight I was asked whether I would remain in the chamber for the President:

1. It depends on who will become President and what the course of events will be, so I will consider it like any other decision in the Assembly.

By the course of events, I meant moments such as crises, protests and unrest surrounding this decision if no agreement is reached, because in such cases priorities change.

2. A political agreement does not mean that it overrides or makes me underestimate the vote of the 27,480 voters for Janina Ymeri,” she clarified.
