Oleksiy Goncharenko, the MP who introduced a bill in the Ukrainian Parliament to recognize Kosovo’s independence, has described President Volodymyr Zelensky’s statement in Belgrade as a “diplomatic mistake.”

During his stay in the Serbian capital, Zelensky reaffirmed that Ukraine would not change its position on Kosovo, prompting a reaction from the Ukrainian lawmaker.

In a post on the social media platform X, Goncharenko also published a photograph showing the removal of the “Free Ukraine” slogan from the “Hotel Grand” in Pristina.

According to him, Ukrainians support Kosovo’s independence. The MP said he would continue his efforts for Ukraine to recognize it.

“Ukrainians support Kosovo’s independence, and we believe that Ukraine should recognize the state. I will continue to fight for Kosovo’s independence, and eventually Ukraine will recognize it,” he wrote.
