The Food and Veterinary Agency has ordered the removal from the market of the “SELECT MILK GR” concentrate intended for dairy cows after it was found that its level of Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) exceeded the maximum permitted limit.

The product was manufactured in Serbia by DE HEUS D.O.O., while in Kosovo it was imported by N.P.T. “Haxhijaha” SH.P.K., based in Rahovec.

The withdrawal procedure covers LOTs 0385010426007 and 0385020426001. According to the AUV, the link between each LOT and the sample and non-compliance identified will be determined after the final verification.

In addition to removing the product from circulation, the remaining quantities must be isolated and the distribution network traced to the operators and farms where the concentrate may have been used.

Farmers, distributors and operators in possession of the product from the aforementioned LOTs must stop using and selling it. The AUV has requested that it be kept separately and that the parties cooperate with the agency and the responsible operator throughout the withdrawal process.

A temporary preventive ban will be in force for 30 days on imports from Serbia of concentrates and maize-based mixtures for dairy cows and calves. This measure applies to products classified or declared under tariff code 2309909600, originating in or manufactured in Serbia.

Within this period, the AUV will prepare a documented risk assessment based on laboratory results and official inspections in order to determine the next steps.

At the same time, checks for the presence of AFB1 in maize and maize-based products used for animal feed have been intensified, particularly in concentrates for dairy cows. These measures include more frequent inspections, sampling and laboratory analyses.

Aflatoxin B1 is a toxic substance that can occur in maize and animal feed. The National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo considers the presence of aflatoxins concerning because of their toxic, genotoxic and carcinogenic effects, especially on the liver.

The AUV explains that when dairy cows are fed products contaminated with AFB1, part of this substance can be converted into Aflatoxin M1 and end up in milk. For this reason, controlling animal feed is considered an important measure for preventing aflatoxins from entering the food chain.

The agency says it will continue inspections at the border and within the country, laboratory analyses and product tracing, with the aim of eliminating the risk at its source and protecting animal and consumer health.

Agjencia e Ushqimit dhe Veterinarisë ka vendosur largimin nga tregu të koncentratit “SELECT MILK GR”, të destinuar për lopë qumështore, pasi është konstatuar se niveli i Aflatoksinës B1 (AFB1) në të tejkalon kufirin maksimal të lejuar.

Produkti është prodhuar në Serbi nga kompania DE HEUS D.O.O., ndërsa në Kosovë është importuar nga N.P.T. “Haxhijaha” SH.P.K. me seli në Rahovec.

Procedura e tërheqjes përfshin LOT-et 0385010426007 dhe 0385020426001. Sipas AUV-së, lidhja e secilit LOT me mostrën dhe mospërputhjen e gjetur do të përcaktohet pas verifikimit përfundimtar.

Përveç nxjerrjes së produktit nga qarkullimi, është kërkuar që sasitë e mbetura të izolohen dhe të ndiqet rrjeti i shpërndarjes deri te operatorët dhe fermat ku koncentrati mund të jetë përdorur.

Fermerët, distributorët dhe operatorët që kanë në posedim produktin nga LOT-et e përmendura duhet të ndalojnë përdorimin dhe shitjen e tij. AUV kërkon që ai të mbahet i ndarë dhe palët të bashkëpunojnë me institucionin dhe operatorin përgjegjës gjatë procesit të tërheqjes.

Një ndalim i përkohshëm, me karakter parandalues, do të jetë në fuqi për 30 ditë për importin nga Serbia të koncentrateve dhe përzierjeve me bazë misri për lopë qumështore dhe viça. Kjo masë zbatohet për produktet e klasifikuara ose të deklaruara me kodin tarifor 2309909600, me origjinë apo të prodhuara në Serbi.

Brenda këtij afati, AUV do të përgatisë një vlerësim të dokumentuar të rrezikut, duke u mbështetur në rezultatet e laboratorëve dhe kontrollet zyrtare, në mënyrë që të përcaktojë hapat e mëtejshëm.

Paralelisht, janë shtuar kontrollet për praninë e AFB1 në misër dhe në produktet me bazë misri që përdoren për ushqimin e kafshëve, veçanërisht në koncentratet për lopë qumështore. Këto veprime përfshijnë kontrolle më të shpeshta, marrje mostrash dhe analiza laboratorike.

Aflatoksina B1 është një substancë toksike që mund të shfaqet në misër dhe në ushqimet e kafshëve. Instituti Kombëtar i Shëndetësisë Publike të Kosovës e konsideron praninë e aflatoksinave shqetësuese për shkak të pasojave të tyre toksike, gjenotoksike dhe kancerogjene, sidomos për mëlçinë.

AUV shpjegon se, kur lopët qumështore ushqehen me produkte të kontaminuara me AFB1, një pjesë e kësaj substance mund të shndërrohet në Aflatoksinë M1 dhe të përfundojë në qumësht. Për këtë arsye, kontrolli i ushqimit të kafshëve shihet si një masë e rëndësishme për të penguar kalimin e aflatoksinave në zinxhirin ushqimor.

Agjencia njofton se do të vijojë kontrollet në kufi dhe brenda vendit, analizat laboratorike dhe gjurmimin e produkteve, me synim eliminimin e rrezikut që në burim dhe mbrojtjen e shëndetit të kafshëve dhe konsumatorëve.
