During the 2024–2026 period, Bitola Clinical Hospital purchased modern medical equipment worth more than 30.4 million denars. The new equipment is replacing devices that had been in use for more than 20 years and for which servicing and technical support were no longer available.

Health Minister Sasho Klekovski highlighted the replacement of the fume hood in the Pathology Department as one of the most important interventions. According to him, the previous device had been acquired around 55 years ago, when the hospital was established.

The modernization process also includes the purchase of an electric drill for orthopedics. The Ophthalmology Department has been equipped with a device for cataract surgery using the phaco method and an ultrasound machine, while a set for monopolar resection has been provided for urology. The Internal Medicine Department has also received a new colonoscope and gastroscope, Klekovski said.

The list of equipment procured also includes an optical coherence tomography device, a new DEXA machine for physical medicine and rehabilitation, as well as a robot and modern software solutions integrated with the PACS system. Thanks to these investments, several hospital departments have significantly expanded their diagnostic and surgical capabilities.

Meanwhile, a procedure has been launched to procure equipment that enables ultrasound-guided prostate biopsies. This modern diagnostic method will be used for the first time at Bitola Clinical Hospital, offering patients from Bitola and the wider region faster, more accurate and more accessible diagnosis at their local hospital.

In addition to modernizing its equipment, the institution has also strengthened its professional medical staff. From July 2024 to date, 61 permanent positions have been filled at the hospital.

Klekovski said that, after many years of working with outdated equipment, Bitola Clinical Hospital is now being equipped according to modern medical standards. He stressed that this is not merely about replacing equipment, but represents a concrete investment aimed at safer diagnosis, higher-quality treatment and better healthcare protection for the citizens of Bitola and the entire region.

Gjatë periudhës 2024–2026, Spitali klinik i Manastirit ka blerë aparaturë moderne mjekësore me vlerë mbi 30,4 milionë denarë. Pajisjet e reja po zëvendësojnë aparate që ishin në përdorim prej më shumë se 20 vjetësh dhe për të cilat nuk ofroheshin më servisim dhe mbështetje teknike.

Ministri i Shëndetësisë, Sasho Klekovski, theksoi se një ndër ndërhyrjet më të rëndësishme është ndërrimi i digestorit në Repartin e patologjisë. Sipas tij, aparati i mëparshëm ishte siguruar rreth 55 vjet më parë, në kohën kur u themelua spitali.

Në procesin e modernizimit përfshihet edhe blerja e një shpueseje elektrike për ortopedi. Reparti i oftalmologjisë është pajisur me aparat për ndërhyrjet e kataraktës përmes metodës fako dhe me aparat për ekografi, ndërsa për urologjinë është siguruar një set për resekcion monopolar. Reparti i mjekësisë interne ka marrë gjithashtu një kolonoskop dhe një gastroskop të ri, bëri të ditur Klekovski.

Lista e aparaturave të siguruara përfshin edhe pajisjen për tomografi koherente optike, aparatin e ri DEXA për mjekësi fizikale dhe rehabilitim, si dhe një robot e zgjidhje moderne softuerike të integruara me sistemin PACS. Falë këtyre investimeve, disa reparte të spitalit kanë rritur ndjeshëm mundësitë e tyre diagnostikuese dhe operative.

Ndërkohë, është hapur procedura për sigurimin e aparaturës që mundëson biopsinë e prostatës nën udhëheqjen e ekografisë. Kjo metodë moderne diagnostikuese do të përdoret për herë të parë në Spitalin klinik të Manastirit, duke u ofruar pacientëve nga Manastiri dhe mbarë rajoni diagnostikim më të shpejtë, më të saktë dhe më të qasshëm në spitalin e tyre amë.

Përveç modernizimit të pajisjeve, institucioni ka forcuar edhe stafin profesional mjekësor. Nga korriku i vitit 2024 e deri më sot, në spital janë realizuar 61 punësime me afat të pacaktuar.

Klekovski deklaroi se, pas shumë vitesh gjatë të cilave është punuar me aparaturë të vjetruar, Spitali klinik i Manastirit tashmë po pajiset sipas standardeve të mjekësisë moderne. Ai nënvizoi se nuk bëhet fjalë vetëm për ndërrimin e pajisjeve, por për një investim konkret që synon diagnostikim më të sigurt, trajtim më cilësor dhe mbrojtje më të mirë shëndetësore për qytetarët e Manastirit dhe të gjithë rajonit.

Health Minister Sasho Klekovski declined to say when the water in Gostivar would be safe to drink again. He made the statement today in Shtip in response to a journalist’s question.

Earlier, Mickoski explained from Delchevo that the water in Gostivar remains unsafe to drink and is permitted only for technical use because bacteria had remained in the pipes.

Klekovski said the aim was to ensure the highest possible level of safety, which is why the results are being continuously monitored and samples are taken daily at several points on users’ premises. According to him, the water supply will be cleared for use once a larger number of samples are found to be safe, while tests must produce satisfactory results at three user sampling points.

“A single unsatisfactory test is enough for the process to require another three days. For that reason, it would be inappropriate for me to speculate about the number of days,” Klekovski said.

Following hyperchlorination, it was established that fecal bacteria had been completely eliminated from the network. However, as Mickoski had previously explained, due to the long period of disuse and the intensive cleaning of the pipes, a new residual bacterium has now appeared in them.

Ministri i Shëndetësisë, Sasho Klekovski, nuk pranoi të përcaktonte se kur uji në Gostivar do të mund të përdoret sërish për pije. Ai e bëri këtë deklaratë sot në Shtip, duke iu përgjigjur pyetjes së një gazetari.

Më herët, Mickoski shpjegoi nga Dellçeva se uji në Gostivar vazhdon të mos jetë i pijshëm dhe lejohet vetëm për përdorim teknik, pasi në instalime kishin mbetur baktere.

Klekovski tha se synohet siguri sa më e lartë, ndaj rezultatet po ndiqen vazhdimisht dhe çdo ditë merren mostra në disa pika të përdoruesve. Sipas tij, furnizimi me ujë do të mund të përdoret pasi një numër më i madh mostrash të rezultojnë të përshtatshme, ndërsa testet duhet të jenë të rregullta në tri pika përdoruesish.

“Mjafton që një test të dalë i papërshtatshëm dhe procesi do të kërkojë edhe tri ditë të tjera. Për këtë arsye, do të ishte e pavend nga ana ime të spekuloja për numrin e ditëve”, deklaroi Klekovski.

During today’s press conference, Health Minister Sasho Klekovski announced the detection of three new patients affected by vector-borne diseases. Two of them have been admitted to the Infectious Diseases Clinic, while one is in the Neurology ward, a case that has already received laboratory confirmation.

Klekovski specified that the necessary analyses are underway and that on-site epidemiological investigations have begun without delay for each of the reported cases.

Based on discussions with the Commission for Infectious Diseases, which is convening on this matter, the minister emphasized that some of the cases are not linked to travel to Greece. “In addition to those connected to the Greek state, we also have patients who have not left the country at all, and their location is in the Skopje Valley region,” he stated.

The minister noted that standard protocols have been implemented, including disinfection of a 200-meter perimeter around the affected individuals’ residences. This intervention was carried out by the Center for Public Health in Skopje, underscoring that this operation is their responsibility and not that of local authorities.

He further added that, based on recommendations and the geographic distribution of cases, the possibility of additional ground spraying will be considered. The Institute of Public Health and the Commission for Infectious Diseases are mapping the distribution of cases in order to take further preventive measures. According to him, the only patient still awaiting an epidemiological survey is the one from Veles, to clarify the origin of his infection.

Klekovski saktësoi se analizat e nevojshme janë duke u zhvilluar dhe se hetimet epidemiologjike në terren kanë filluar pa vonesë për secilin nga rastet e raportuara.

Bazuar në diskutimet me Komisionin për Sëmundjet Infektive, i cili është duke u mbledhur për këtë çështje, ministri theksoi se disa prej rasteve nuk kanë lidhje me udhëtime në Greqi. “Përveç atyre që lidhen me shtetin grek, kemi edhe pacientë që nuk kanë dalë aspak jashtë vendit dhe vendndodhja e tyre është në rajonin e Fushës së Shkupit,” deklaroi ai.

Ministri bëri me dije se janë zbatuar protokollet e zakonshme, duke dezinfektuar një perimetër prej 200 metrash rreth banesave të të prekurve. During the visit, the plan for deep reconstruction, capacity expansion and state-of-the-art equipment for the institution was unveiled. The estimated total investment amounts to around 4.56 billion denars, or about 74 million euros, while the way financing will be divided will be decided after the necessary analyses and procedures are completed.

The plan includes a radical transformation: from the reconstruction of the Surgery and Internal Medicine wards, to the construction of a previously unknown pavilion for several medical specialties. Also, a separate building will be erected for gynecology, obstetrics and neonatology, together with the purchase of modern medical technology and IT systems. Meanwhile, degraded structures will free up space for a complete reorganization of the hospital courtyard.

Minister Klekovski described this as a new guarantee for the dignity and protection of patients, and a more favorable working environment for staff. “Our goal is for the residents of Tetovo and the entire Polog region to have modern and immediate hospital services at their side, without being forced to leave,” he said.

For his part, Mayor Kasami highlighted that the Government’s major projects have not stopped, regardless of who is in power. “This shows that the strategic initiatives of this cabinet do not depend on individuals. Today with the new minister and World Bank experts we inspected the facility and marked the start of the procedure for the most vital project for the western area of Macedonia. We are fully confident that this investment will serve the community as soon as possible,” he added.

The investment directly affects around 251,500 inhabitants of Polog and aims to bring more local treatments, reducing queues and frequent referrals towards Skopje.

After the meeting with World Bank officials, it became clear that immediate phases include drafting a feasibility study, technical documentation and a cost-benefit analysis, which will lead to the selection of a secure and long-term financing model.

Gjatë qëndrimit atje, u zbulua plani për rindërtimin e thellë, shtimin e kapaciteteve dhe pajisjen bashkëkohore të këtij institucioni. Shifra totale e investimit të përllogaritur kap rreth 4.56 miliardë denarë, ose rreth 74 milionë euro, ndërsa mënyra sesi do të ndahet financimi do të vendoset pas përfundimit të analizave dhe procedurave të domosdoshme.

Nga ana e tij, kryetari Kasami vuri në pah se projektet madhore të Qeverisë nuk kanë ndalur, pa dallim qeveritarësh. “Kjo tregon se nismat strategjike të këtij kabineti nuk varen nga personat. Sot me ministrin e sapoardhur dhe ekspertët e Bankës Botërore inspektuam objektin dhe shënuam fillimin e procedurës për projektin më jetik për zonën perëndimore të Maqedonisë. Jemi plot besim se ky investim do t’i shërbejë sa më parë komunitetit,” shtoi ai.

Investimi prek drejtpërdrejt rreth 251.500 frymë të Pollogut dhe synon të sjellë më shumë trajtime lokale, duke reduktuar radhët dhe referimet e shpeshta drejt Shkupit.

During a press conference, Klekovski stressed that in the last four days the number of new initial contacts has ranged from 80 to 125, making it difficult to determine whether this fluctuation is part of the normal situation or a result of the epidemic. To clarify this, he said that in-depth epidemiological surveys are necessary.

The minister pointed out that over the past decade, the average number of reported infectious diseases in Gostivar during July was 25 cases, indicating that it will soon be necessary to clearly distinguish between what belongs to the normal course and what is directly linked to the epidemic. He added that the total number of official complaints has reached 869, of which 602 people have been interviewed, and he called on citizens to cooperate closely with health teams to keep the situation under control.

As the acute phase of the epidemic is gradually calming down, Klekovski announced that, in consultation with the Commission for Infectious Diseases, it was decided to implement expanded surveillance in the post-acute phase. He appealed to family doctors and health institutions in Gostivar to focus their attention on upcoming challenges, especially the surveillance of hepatitis A and E, as well as other infections that may appear at the end of the epidemic cycle.

The minister added that detailed guidelines will be distributed to the Public Health Center, medical institutions, and family doctors, including recommendations for communication with the population.
