Vita Factory has issued a response following statements by acting Minister of Agriculture Armend Muja regarding samples of dairy products.

According to the company, during today’s press conference, Muja addressed several issues for which data can easily be obtained from Kosovo Customs, the Tax Administration of Kosovo and the Kosovo Food and Veterinary Agency (KFVA). Vita claims that the minister merely summarized this information without revealing anything new.

The response emphasizes that, despite repeated promises, the minister did not publish the sample test results, which the company had expected to be made public today.

Vita says it is confident that all its products are labeled in accordance with legal provisions. The company is calling on the Ministry and the KFVA to publish the test results, saying they have not been provided to it for 33 days and that the institutions are now in violation of the law.

“We call on the Ministry and the KFVA to publish the test results immediately,” the response states.

Regarding other claims, which Vita describes as defamatory, about its water supply and number of employees, the company has called on the minister to first consult the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning. According to Vita, the factory holds a water permit and has a wastewater treatment plant.

As for the number of employees, Vita has asked for the data to be verified with the Tax Administration of Kosovo, where, according to the company, its employees have been declared. The response also clarifies that the company’s official name is Abrazen LLC.

The factory guarantees that all products under the “VITA” brand are made entirely from fresh milk supplied by Kosovar farmers, while expressing pride in its position as a leader in the dairy industry.

Vita has called on the acting minister to stop what the company describes as defamatory statements, to properly inform himself before holding press conferences and not to present manipulated data in a tendentious manner, arguing that this approach is strengthening imports.

Concluding its response, the company addressed the minister with the message: “Minister, love your own.”

During a press conference held today, acting Minister of Agriculture Armend Muja presented the results of inspections conducted by the Food and Veterinary Agency over the past three months at several dairies in the country.

The Special Anti-Corruption Prosecution Office (SPAK) has responded following reports published in the Italian media and subsequently in the Albanian media concerning a criminal complaint filed against prosecutor Altin Dumani by Petrit Çela, the father of wanted fugitive Suel Çela.

In its clarification, SPAK says that Petrit Çela contacted the head of the institution on May 20, 2026, and June 18, 2026, requesting that prosecutor Altin Dumani be removed from the criminal proceedings in which Petrit Çela’s relatives, Marjus Lulaj and Mario Çela, are defendants.

According to SPAK, the main argument presented by Petrit Çela was the criminal complaint filed against Dumani in Verona.

“In support of his request for removal, Petrit Çela cited the criminal complaint filed in Verona, Italy. After reviewing the request and the documents supporting it, the head of the Special Prosecution Office decided on June 19, 2026, to ‘Reject the request’ as unsupported by law and evidence. The documentation submitted by Petrit Çela shows that criminal proceedings no. R.G.N.R. 3514/2026 – R.G. GIP 2877/2026 were registered with the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Verona, Italy, for the criminal offense of ‘False accusation’ (calunnia), as provided for under Article 368 of the Italian Criminal Code, based on a complaint filed by Petrit Çela against prosecutor Altin Dumani, who served as Head of the Special Prosecution Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime from December 19, 2022, to December 19, 2025,” SPAK said in its clarification.

According to SPAK, the only element linking Altin Dumani to the international cooperation in question is his signature, in his capacity as head of SPAK, on an official letter dated July 11, 2024, as well as on the August 26, 2024, agreement establishing a Joint Investigation Team between SPAK and the Verona Prosecutor’s Office, at the initiative of the Italian authorities.

“Prosecutor Altin Dumani was not part of the investigative team handling criminal proceedings no. 10792/2023 (Italy) and no. 123/2024 (Special Prosecution Office), did not carry out investigative actions, interrogations, seizures, or requests for seizure, and became aware of the existence of the criminal proceedings in Italy only in May 2026, after the Italian Prosecutor’s Office had submitted its request for dismissal,” the statement said.

Following several reports and articles published by local media outlets, citing sources from local media in Verona, Republic of Italy, we wish to clarify the following for the public:

Petrit Çela contacted the Head of the Special Prosecution Office on May 20, 2026, and June 18, 2026, requesting the removal of prosecutor Altin Dumani from criminal proceedings no. 193/2023, in which defendants Marjus Lulaj and Mario Çela, relatives of Petrit Çela, are facing criminal prosecution and in which prosecutor Altin Dumani serves as the prosecutor in charge of the case.

In support of his request for removal, Petrit Çela cited the criminal complaint filed in Verona, Italy. After reviewing the request and the documents supporting it, the Head of the Special Prosecution Office decided on June 19, 2026, to “Reject the request” as unsupported by law and evidence.

The documentation submitted by Petrit Çela shows that criminal proceedings no. R.G.N.R. 3514/2026 – R.G. GIP 2877/2026 were registered with the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Verona, Italy, for the criminal offense of “False accusation” (calunnia), as provided for under Article 368 of the Italian Criminal Code, based on a complaint filed by Petrit Çela against prosecutor Altin Dumani, who served as Head of the Special Prosecution Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime from December 19, 2022, to December 19, 2025.

After reviewing the case documents, the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Verona submitted a request to dismiss the criminal proceedings (richiesta di archiviazione) on April 21, 2026, which was filed on May 14, 2026. Petrit Çela, who filed the criminal complaint, lodged an objection (opposizione) to this request on May 11, 2026, leading to the scheduling of a court hearing before the GIP/GUP Section of the Court of Verona.

The documents obtained show that the only identified element linking prosecutor Altin Dumani to the international cooperation in question is his signature, in his capacity as Head of the Special Prosecution Office, on an official institutional letter dated July 11, 2024, as well as on an agreement dated August 26, 2024, establishing a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) between the Special Prosecution Office and the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Verona. The initiative came from the Italian authorities themselves in connection with criminal proceedings no. 10792/2023.

Prosecutor Altin Dumani was not part of the investigative team handling criminal proceedings no. 10792/2023 (Italy) and no. 123/2024 (Special Prosecution Office), did not carry out investigative actions, interrogations, seizures, or requests for seizure, and became aware of the existence of the criminal proceedings in Italy only in May 2026, after the Italian Prosecutor’s Office had submitted its request for dismissal.

Gëzim Sveçla, head of the Vetëvendosje Movement’s assembly members’ group in the Pristina Municipal Assembly, has called on Pristina Mayor Përparim Rama to answer claims concerning the way he has governed.

Sveçla stressed that Rama’s family should not be drawn into political disputes, but added that family cannot be used as a justification for avoiding questions related to the mayor’s public duties.

He called on Rama to address the content of the messages made public, the corruption allegations, legalizations suspected of having been carried out unlawfully, and the role of his associates. At the same time, Sveçla said the Prosecutor’s Office should investigate and fully clarify the matter.

“A demand for accountability does not constitute a lynching. Answer the allegations concerning you and your administration,” Sveçla wrote.

He titled his response: “PËRPARIM, DO NOT PLAY THE VICTIM. EXPLAIN YOURSELF.”

Sveçla said the Pristina mayor’s family is not part of the political debate and should not be made part of it, emphasizing that there should be no ambiguity on this matter.

However, according to him, family cannot be used as a shield to avoid questions directly related to Rama’s exercise of public office.

He stated that no LVV assembly member had published messages mentioning Përparim Rama’s family or any other private individuals with no connection to the issues raised.

For this reason, Sveçla urged Rama not to divert the debate in another direction or portray himself as a victim.

“Provide explanations regarding the published messages, the corruption allegations, and the legalizations suspected of being unlawful. Also explain the role of your associates in these cases,” he wrote.

Sveçla added that Rama should state clearly whether the allegations are false, whether the messages were manipulated, and whether the actions alleged to have been carried out in his name did not occur.

According to him, demanding accountability is not a lynching, while requests for answers concerning serious suspicions over the exercise of power cannot be described as inhumane.

He emphasized that oversight and demanding accountability are the duty of the opposition, as well as of every elected representative.

“The Prosecutor’s Office must do its job and fully clarify the case. Until then, nothing prevents you from publicly addressing the allegations made against you and your administration,” Sveçla stated.

He concluded his response by calling for the family to be left out of the debate, adding that they had also kept it out, while demanding answers to the allegations concerning Rama and his administration.

Agron Bajrami, Kosovo’s chief negotiator in the dialogue with Serbia, has responded to a statement published by the European Democrats opposing Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić’s rhetoric on Kosovo.

According to the European Democrats, Vučić stated “once again that Kosovo is part of Serbia.” They said such claims undermine reconciliation efforts and threaten stability in the region.

The response also mentioned a statement made just days earlier by Serbian Minister Snezhana Paunović, who said she would have “ethnically cleansed” Kosovo in 1998. The European Democrats stressed that, although these statements have been condemned in Europe, they have not resulted in political consequences.

Bajrami shared the statement, describing it as an important signal regarding Belgrade’s approach and the rhetoric that, according to him, is obstructing the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.

“Belgrade continues to deny reality, deny the truth, and recycle the language of the 1990s. There can be no credible dialogue while one side still claims the other’s territory and dreams of repeating ethnic cleansing. Kosovo will not negotiate its existence,” Bajrami wrote on X.

The Kosovo Law Institute (KLI) began collecting citizens’ signatures on July 23, 2026, in support of a citizens’ legislative initiative to amend and supplement the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.

The activity, announced at 10:46 and launched at 10:47, is taking place in Mother Teresa Square in Pristina. Citizens there have been given the opportunity to sign the petition in support of the proposed amendments to the Criminal Code.

Through the citizens’ legislative initiative mechanism, KLI aims to secure public support for the proposed changes. This mechanism allows citizens to participate directly in drafting and amending legislation.

KLI senior researcher Gzim Shala said in an interview that the initiative was undertaken in response to the continued failure to implement Constitutional Court decisions, as well as the need to strengthen the rule of law.

According to Shala, KLI’s first step was to notify the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo about the launch of the initiative, which is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo and the Law on Legislative Initiatives. He explained that the issue was raised for two reasons: to ensure the implementation of Constitutional Court decisions and to criminalize actions by political actors in power when their actions undermine political competition.

Maintenance crews have been deployed to address the aftermath of the heavy rainfall and storm that swept across Kosovo.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport said that strong winds toppled trees and damaged several vehicles on regional road R115 at the entrance to Shtërpcë.

According to the ministry’s statement, crews responded immediately, removing the trees and clearing the road section. The road has now reopened and traffic is flowing normally.

The ministry also said that crews remain on standby and are coordinating with the relevant institutions to manage the situation caused by the storm.

Authorities urged citizens to exercise extra caution in traffic, avoid unnecessary travel during storms or heavy rainfall, and adjust their speed to the weather conditions.

Asked whether the possibility of a new term for Vjosa Osmani was addressed at the meeting, Kurti declined to comment on specific names, stressing that the current focus is on concepts and political vision.

“We believe that the spirit and letter of the Constitution call for a president who is an expression of the unity of the people and, in this sense, must be consensual. We are interested in having the maximum possible number of deputies who will remain in the hall,” Kurti said.

He mentioned that names such as Glauk Konjufca and Feride Rushiti had also been mentioned previously for the post of president, but added that the main issue remains securing a quorum of at least 80 deputies.

“We may choose a specific name, but the number 80, which is the minimum, is difficult to reach. Therefore, our focus has not been on specific names for president, but on concepts, principles and the vision ahead, as well as on how to maximize the number of deputies who will be present on the decisive day of the presidential election,” Kurti declared.
