A convicted inmate serving his sentence at Reç Prison left the facility and subsequently failed to return after his leave ended. He was identified as Petrit Ndoci, who was sentenced for violent theft and illegal possession of a firearm.

Ndoci was reportedly due to return to prison today, at around 12:30 p.m., but did not report to the facility.

Meanwhile, his brother said that Ndoci had left a letter before departing.

“I am leaving, I love you very much…”, Ndoci reportedly wrote in the letter.

Petrit Ndoci had two years left to serve in prison.

Following the inmate’s failure to return from leave, authorities have begun procedures to locate and apprehend him, while checks are continuing to establish the circumstances of his departure.
