Footage from the rally held on June 27 in Belgrade has circulated on social media and in Serbian media, showing Radoičić, who is wanted by the Kosovo authorities under an Interpol arrest warrant.

He is the person who claimed responsibility for organizing the terrorist armed attack in Banjska, Zvečan, on September 24, 2023, an attack in which Kosovo Police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed, while the armed group clashed with Kosovo security forces.

Radoičić is also one of the conditions that Prime Minister Albin Kurti has set for Serbia and its president, Aleksandar Vučić, for the continuation of the dialogue.

Alongside other conditions, Kurti has demanded that Serbia hand over Radoičić, who, as the now-public footage shows, takes part in public activities led by the Serbian president.

On the other hand, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has publicly defended him.

Two days after Radoičić was seen at the rally, Vučić was asked about claims that two active members of the Serbian Gendarmerie are serving as bodyguards for him and for Zvonko Veselinović.

Vučić said he had no information about these claims, but at the same time downplayed the reason for the international manhunt for Radoičić.

“I have no information about this. Radoičić is on Interpol’s red notice not because of criminality, but because of Kosovo,” he said.

He further added that “someone is pursuing him because of Kosovo, not because of what you are saying,” implying that the proceedings against Radoičić are politically, rather than criminally, motivated.

Security expert Arben Dashevci says such footage is nothing new.

According to him, Radoičić moves constantly near that political establishment.

“The footage circulating on social media and Serbian websites shows that Milan Radoičić took part in the rally organized by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić on June 27 in Belgrade. These images are not new because he constantly moves around that political establishment there, he is always close to that establishment, he is connected to them, I believe. Radoičić is the person who claimed responsibility for the armed attack in Banjska, Zvečan, on September 24, 2023, he has been declared wanted, he has endangered Kosovo’s national security, he is wanted under an Interpol arrest warrant,” Dashevci told “Bota sot”.

He described Radoičić’s presence at such a rally as unacceptable and assessed that it shows Serbia’s lack of willingness to cooperate, as well as its closeness to criminal elements.

“For Milan Radoičić to appear at Vučić’s rally, despite the accusations over the Banjska attack, is absolutely unacceptable. This shows the contaminated establishment there, linked to dangerous criminal groups for the Balkan region. Milan Radoičić’s participation in Vučić’s rally in Belgrade shows an attempt to minimize the macabre act, shows Serbia’s unwillingness to cooperate and hand over criminals, shows Serbia’s solidarity with internationally wanted criminals, and it has a Serbian background,” the expert emphasized.

According to Dashevci, not only Kosovo, but the entire Balkans remains endangered by Radoičić and other people like him.

He called for them to be handed over as soon as possible.

“And as long as Radoičić and other criminals move freely in their vicious circle in Serbia, they pose a danger to us as a state and to the Balkans as a whole, in my view. The international community must react more decisively/harshly by pressuring Serbia to hand over these criminals as quickly as possible, because they are responsible for the biggest attack in the Republic of Kosovo since the declaration of independence,” Dashevci concluded.

Meanwhile, Bllagoje Spasojević and Vlladimir Tolić were sentenced to life imprisonment by the Basic Court in Prishtina for the armed attack in Banjska, while Dushan Maksimović was sentenced to 30 years in prison. More than 40 other people, led by Radoičić, continue to move freely in Serbia.

His appearance at Vučić’s rally came at a time when the Serbian president delivered a speech in nationalist tones, repeating Serbia’s claims over Kosovo and warning of a display of military القوة during Vidovdan activities.

In that speech, Vučić said that Kosovo is part of Serbia and called on citizens to watch the military parade, stressing that “tomorrow you will see the strength of your Army.”
