The Crisis Management Center announced that a total of 13 fires had been recorded across the country by 13:00. Of these, five remain active, six have been brought under control, and two have been extinguished.

The active fires are located between the villages of Graçan and Nigishtan in the Municipality of Gjorçe Petrov, where the fire is also spreading toward Kosovo, near the village of Belicë in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod, near the village of Podgorcë in the Municipality of Struga, in the Bedinje settlement in Kumanovo, and at the Çavkarnik site above Mavrovo, in the Municipality of Mavrovo-Rostuša.

The fires between the villages of Burinec, Lokov and Selci in the Municipality of Struga, near the village of Breznicë in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod, in the area of the village of Kopanicë in the Municipality of Saraj, and near the Ramno site in the Municipality of Çuçer-Sandevë have been brought under control. This category also includes the fires at the landfills in Kratovë and Dellçevë.

Two other fires, near the village of Cërveni Bregovi in the Municipality of Negotinë and on Pero Nakov Street in the Municipality of Gazi Baba, have been extinguished.

As announced by the QMK unit in Gevgelija, the case was reported at around 10:00. Two firefighting vehicles from the “Dojran” voluntary firefighters’ association, with five firefighters, have been deployed to the scene, along with a special vehicle from the Gevgelija Firefighting Unit with three firefighters.

A police vehicle is also in the area, securing the scene.

According to the Central Firefighting Department in Gevgelija, the flames have engulfed a forest of fir trees, while the wind is helping the fire spread in several directions. So far, it has not spread into the territory of neighboring Greece, but it remains very close to the border line.

Greek media in neighboring Kukush have also reported on the incident, saying the fire can also be seen from their side of the border.
