Public transport associations have warned that they will reduce the urban bus fleet if they do not receive a response from the government on fuel compensation by the beginning of next week.

Representatives of the operators say that delays in payments for March, April and May are placing a significant strain on the finances of transport companies.

The government has approved a compensation scheme of 50 lekë per liter of fuel for public transport operators.

However, they say that although the necessary documentation has been completed, the funds have still not been disbursed.
