The mother of one of the minor children suspected of having been poisoned at a kindergarten in Korçë described in a live interview on the “Review” program with Greta Topjana on Euronews Albania how her son’s symptoms began.

She said they picked up the child from kindergarten at 1:30 p.m., as usual, and that he appeared to be in good health at the time. After they arrived home, the boy complained of stomach pain, but the discomfort quickly passed.

Later, the mother took him to training at 5:30 p.m., along with the other children who were his friends from the kindergarten group. In the WhatsApp group chat with the parents, she saw that other children had also begun suffering from vomiting and stomach pain.

According to her, some of them had been taken to the emergency room because their condition was more serious. She also contacted several friends whose children attend the same kindergarten and received the same information.

“Fortunately, his condition is very good. He did not have any major problems, only some mild symptoms. We picked him up from kindergarten, as usual, at 1:30 p.m., when my husband went to get him. The boy was very well and did not appear to have anything wrong.

When he came home, he complained that he had stomach pain, but since it passed, I was not worried. At 5:30 p.m., I was going to take him to training. He goes there with his friends from the kindergarten group, and I noticed that many parents were writing in the group that their children had been vomiting and had stomach pain. At that moment, I became worried.

Then I also called several friends whose children attend the same kindergarten. They told me they had taken them to the emergency room because the children were in quite serious condition.

I went to training and picked him up before it ended. I kept him under observation throughout the day, and he did not have any other problems. Only at around 4 a.m. did he vomit, while during Saturday he was a little tired and had a yellowish complexion. These were the only symptoms my child displayed,” the mother said.
