Three women who had gone out to sea in a canoe in the Palasë area were rescued after worsening weather and difficult sea conditions put them at risk of drowning.

Border Police and the Maritime Police Unit spotted them while patrolling the Palasë sector and intervened without delay. Officers went to their aid and managed to bring them safely ashore, with no risk to their lives.

All three are in good health. They thanked Border Police and Maritime Police Unit officers for their help and timely response.

In their announcement, Border Police and the Maritime Police Unit call on vacationers and users of watercraft to exercise increased caution, assess weather conditions and sea state, and not go out to sea when circumstances endanger their safety.
