For four days, the situation caused by the fire in the Ulëz Administrative Unit, in the Municipality of Mat, has remained critical.

The flames have engulfed hundreds of hectares of pine forests, oak forests and other vegetation, spreading through the areas of Lundres Trodhenes and Madhesh.

The fire has spiraled out of control and is advancing rapidly, while the dense smoke and flames are making intervention from the ground impossible, journalist Enver Doçi reports.

Last night, several families were evacuated from Madhesh because of the flames. The fire also threatened homes and livestock shelters.

Today, numerous forces have set out for Madhesh to contain the fire hotspots.

Mat Municipality employees, firefighters, the forestry service and army forces are on the ground and have been trying to contain the flames for four days.

A helicopter has also been used to extinguish the fire and has been working to put out the flames for three days.
