The activity of nine stone crushers has been halted following an intervention by the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, because they were operating without the necessary documentation and in violation of the law.

According to published data, seven of these crushers were operating in Suharekë, while two others were operating in Skenderaj.

The intervention was confirmed by the Government of Kosovo, which announced that work at all nine illegal stone crushers has been stopped due to the lack of relevant documentation.

The Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Fitore Pacolli, said the action was taken after the files of more than 200 stone crushers were reviewed.

Pacolli warned that inspections and field actions will continue, and any entity caught operating outside the law will face measures.

She stressed that entities operating without the necessary permits and documentation, thereby damaging the environment, will not be tolerated.

Four people have been arrested during two operations by the Vlora Police targeting cases of illegal possession of weapons and the distribution of narcotics.

As a result of the police actions, officers seized a handgun, six bullets, approximately five kilograms of cannabis sativa, an amount of cocaine and two vehicles.

In Vlora, E. O., 30, was arrested in flagrante delicto. The young man was reportedly caught in a parking lot near a venue in the Lungomare area, where a physical search found a handgun with six bullets, 2.18 grams of cocaine and 4.46 grams of cannabis sativa in his bag.

Meanwhile, three people were arrested in Sarandë: Ardit Cama, 30, a resident of Lukovë; Argjend Nanaj, 31, a resident of Lukovë, with a criminal record for narcotics and illegal possession of weapons; and Keldi Jovani, 26, a resident of Sarandë, with a criminal record in the field of narcotics.

The three suspects were caught in flagrante delicto on the Nivicë–Sarandë road, near the Kakome bridge, while traveling in two vehicles.

During a search of the vehicle driven by Argjend Nanaj, in which Ardit Cama was also present, police found and seized five kilograms of suspected cannabis sativa, which is suspected to have been transported for sale in Sarandë and Ksamil.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Keldi Jovani was traveling in the other vehicle to monitor the route and signal the presence of police services.

The Vlora Police have finalized two operations, codenamed “Security” and “Transporters,” over the past 24 hours as part of the fight against illegal possession of weapons and the distribution of narcotics. As a result of the operations, four people were arrested, while a handgun, approximately five kilograms of cannabis sativa, an amount of cocaine, six bullets and two vehicles were seized.

2—In Sarandë, following a three-week proactive investigation conducted using special investigative methods, the services of the Sarandë Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the Directorate of the Special Operational Force of the State Police General Directorate and the National Security Force, Tirana Unit, under the direction of the Sarandë Prosecutor’s Office, finalized the police operation codenamed ‘Transporters.’

Three people were arrested during the operation:

— A. N., 31, a resident of Lukovë, with a criminal record in the field of narcotics and for illegal possession of weapons;

— K. J., 26, a resident of Sarandë, with a criminal record in the field of narcotics;

— A. C., 30, a resident of Lukovë.

The three individuals were caught in flagrante delicto on the Nivicë–Sarandë road, near the Kakome bridge, while traveling in two vehicles. During a search of the vehicle driven by A. N., in which A. C. was also traveling, officers found and seized five kilograms of suspected cannabis sativa, which is suspected to have been transported for sale in Sarandë and Ksamil. Investigators suspect that K. Investigations continue to fully document this criminal activity and identify other people involved. The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action,” the police said.

Speaking about the operation carried out a week earlier in cooperation with international authorities, in which assets worth 1 million euros linked to a money-laundering network stemming from drug trafficking were seized in Kosovo, was Special Prosecution Chief Prosecutor Blerim Isufaj.

During his appearance, Isufaj praised the institution he leads, but did not give many details about the case.

“This operation was carried out within the framework of an investigation into the transnational laundering of proceeds derived from drug trafficking by the Italian and French authorities, coordinated by Europol and Eurojust and in full cooperation with the SPRK. As part of this case, two people were arrested in September 2025 on suspicion of committing the criminal offenses of participation in or organization of an organized criminal group and money laundering. The operation in question is the result of close inter-institutional cooperation,” said Blerim Isufaj, Chief Prosecutor of the SPRK.

At this conference, he also touched on the activity of other departments, including investigations into war crimes.

“This year we have also carried out two operations related to war crimes; in this regard, five people were arrested over the Reçak massacre, while in another operation carried out in Syridan, five people were arrested for war crimes. Then, the investigations into the neighborhood in the Jashari family will soon be finalized,” said Blerim Isufaj, Chief Prosecutor of the SPRK.

Asked about political statements by state officials, in which he is continually criticized, Isufaj gave a short response.

“These are questions you can address to the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council. However, I do not comment on anyone’s political statements, and I do not fall prey to anyone, that’s all,” said Blerim Isufaj, Chief Prosecutor of the SPRK.

According to Isufaj, the SPRK’s successes also include first-instance guilty verdicts handed down in the espionage cases and in the Banjska case, while he said the trial in the Iber Lepenci case is also expected to begin soon.
