The Municipality of Viti, the Directorate for Health and Social Welfare (DHSW), and the Main Family Medicine Centre (MFMC) in Viti have strongly condemned the physical attack on nurse B.S., which occurred while she was carrying out her professional duties.

In their joint statement, the municipal institutions stressed that violence against healthcare workers is intolerable, as it endangers workplace safety, violates the dignity of professionals and obstructs the normal functioning of the healthcare system.

“Violence against people who serve citizens every day cannot be accepted. The duty of healthcare workers is to provide care, assistance and support, not to be the target of attacks,” the municipal institutions stated.

Full support has been offered to the assaulted nurse and the entire MFMC staff. The Municipality of Viti wished B.S. a speedy recovery and a swift return to work.

The relevant authorities were also asked to take all necessary legal measures in handling the case, so that those responsible face the consequences предусмотрed by the legislation in force.
